Pittsburgh Children's Dentistry

When we moved to Pittsburgh, we were referred to this practice and have seen them for about 10 years. The dentists and hygienists seem totally competent and have been good with my kids, including one who's pretty fearful. Unfortunately, I just had the same experience that a friend mentioned having had with this practice: we got a call last minute (appointments are for tomorrow and were scheduled months ago) that they need to reschedule because the dentist isn't even in the office tomorrow. I'd gotten several texts and messages confirming the appointment over the past few days, and I had moved my own schedule around to accommodate this appointment, so I'm more than a little frustrated. Given that I was warned about this exact problem happening with others, I don't think we'll continue coming to this practice, even though the quality of care has never been a problem.

Dr Aaron & staff are the very best. They make their patients feel valued & appreciated. My son looks forward to his visits!

This place has been the very best for my kids since they were teeny tiny. So patient, kind, gentle, and efficient… and we’ll keep coming until they age out!

I don't know what's happening to this practice, but it's going downhill. The waiting room is no longer kid friendly and neither is the front desk staff. The check-in window is routinely closed and the lights behind the front desk area are off, so you feel like you're intruding on someone when you have to knock on the dark glass and sign in (it's like a night lounge.) To be clear, I am all for a peaceful, tranquil environment for the staff, but it's a dental office that operates during regular daylight business hours. In healthcare settings, proper lighting is required for safe and receptive care, as well as for providing a welcoming environment for patients and their families. Today when we arrived for our children's routine cleaning (3 kiddos), we were told that the appointment was made for only one child (my appointment card shows otherwise.) Additionally, having gone to this practice for over ten (10) years, we have never once scheduled the children apart. (Maybe if there was more lighting during the scheduling process and more attention paid to patient care, the mistake could have been avoided.)

This office makes going to the dentist fun for kids. My 4 year old is excited for her appointments, and getting a 'prize' from the machine when she's all done. One FYI for parents - our last appointment corresponded with dismissal at the nearby high school, and the parking lot as we entered was filled with high schoolers congregating and running around as they waited for city buses...and yes, it smelled like a good amount of weed. In the future we will try to avoid scheduling a 2:30 or 3pm weekday appointment.
